The Challenge
GO is a data-heavy platform, pulling real-time information from multiple APIs related to emergencies. The challenge was to turn this overwhelming flow of data into a clear, usable experience. Users need quick access to the most important insights - organized, prioritized, and easy to understand - especially in high-stress situations where every second counts.
The XD Process
Our collaboration with GO is long-term and deeply rooted in experience design. We work continuously to improve the platform by conducting in-depth, platform-wide user research, as well as focused studies on specific modules. To date, we’ve carried out over 200 user interviews with Red Cross and Red Crescent staff and volunteers from more than 50 countries - ensuring the platform reflects the needs of its global user base and supports real-world use in critical contexts.

The Outcomes
Our work has empowered emergency responders with a streamlined, intuitive platform that delivers critical information swiftly and clearly. We developed a comprehensive design system and components library, ensuring consistency and scalability across GO’s interface. An interactive prototype serves as a dynamic tool for presenting new feature concepts to stakeholders. Additionally, we’re advancing the platform by integrating AI and large language models to analyze operational learnings, enhancing decision-making, and future response capabilities.
